Boris finds his Groove

When I was 16, my younger sister Emily made me a teddy bear in her art class at school. It turns out, Boris was one of the best presents I have ever been given. He came with me to college and grad school, he has witnessed the arrival of 4 children and the loss of 4 dogs, he has grown thinner (perhaps "flatter" is a more accurate word here) with each of his 32 years, despite occasional re-stuffings. He is now rather riddled with holes, and he wears his very stylish onesie to make sure all his insides stay in. He also suffers from "drooping-flip-leg", an affliction that affects bears of a certain age and composition, which makes his legs hang backwards. Drooping-flip-leg makes him walk like a cowboy who has been on a horse for too long, and should I be lucky enough to reach the ripe old age of whatever 32 in bear years is, I really hope this never happens to me.

Boris now belongs to my 12 year old daughter. She makes sure that his legacy of warbling songs, snarky comments, and fear of the crack between the bed and the wall lives on. Boris hangs with us at holidays, has a birthday, his own apartment (with matching furniture), a bear-sized vio-lone (he only plays it when he is alone), and a suitcase filled with his multiple onesies. Boris has been a staple of evening entertainment for many years, and we thank him for his lifelong dedication to making us laugh.

The video on the "Original Works" page of this website his time to shine. He would like everyone to know that he choreographed this work himself, and he hopes you watch the video carefully in order to appreciate how much effort he put in. To get there quickly, you can just click the picture. Thank you.
